Let's Keep Our Children's Toys Safe

What good is a deadline if it's not enforced? That's why I just sent an email telling Congress to make sure that the Consumer Product Safety Commission enforces the deadline on selling lead and chemically tainted children's products.
Congress passed a law this year which makes it illegal to sell children's products that violate lead and certain chemical standards after Feb. 10, 2009. But now industry says it can't meet that deadline, and wants to keep selling existing inventory containing these chemicals. The industry can't change the rules of the game now  especially when it was involved in developing the law.
Consumers worked long and hard to get this law passed. We can't let it be ignored because industry is complaining. Please join me in writing Congress to watch over the government agency in charge of product safety and to tell the agency to do its job and enforce the new law. Our children's health and safety is too important!
